Politics today is too often dominated by career politicians who have little experience of the world outside Westminster.
The benches of Parliament are packed with privileged people who have been able to use their wealth, connections and elite education to springboard themselves into positions of power.
Candidates for elections are often parachuted into constituencies by the main parties, meaning that communities are represented by MP that have no connection to them.
We know all this could be different. We think it is vital that the people of Britain are represented by those that have their best interests at heart, and believe that this will be best achieved by ensuring candidates for election are real people from real communities. Genuine representation with an understanding of the local issues and priorities, by people who know what’s at stake.
We want to put forward outstanding individuals who have either lived or worked in the area they want to represent for at least two years.
